New Zealand?

What is so special about new Zealand getting its first gold medal? Why is that noteworthy to be in the lead? Got nothing against the Kiwis except it's weird to mention them in the lead as if they're a major player in the games. I mean there are no mention of the host nation having its most successful winter games and getting a new record of 9 golds. Despite at least that info is comparatively more noteworthy than New Zealand.Jungkook1996 (talk) 07:51, 20 February 2022 (UTC)

Does the medal count in the table include the Figure Skating Team Event, for which medals haven't been handed out yet?

It's not clear from the text in the article. It should be mentioned that things could change if Russia is eventually dethroned due to a doping ruling... AnonMoos (talk) 19:00, 26 February 2022 (UTC)

@AnonMoos: On the Olympics website, it is stated that 'Figure Skating Team and Women Single Skating event results are provisional'. This would suggest that the medal count includes both events, but it is likely to be changed later. Jolly1253 (talk) 01:49, 27 February 2022 (UTC)

@AnonMoos: provisional results are definitely included as the medal table has 109 golds, silver and bronzes, and there were 109 medaling events at the games. I have also added the note. SSSB (talk) 11:01, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
